Our Benchmark
The G2COOL Geothermal Plant in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, launched
in December 2023, uses two abandoned oil wells from 2009-2010 for absorption cooling, meeting ~10% of the city’s needs. It is 50% more energy-efficient
than traditional systems, reducing electricity use and supporting the UAE
Energy Strategy 2050.
